Benjamin Helton is a music educator, education researcher, and tuba player who also has a small obsession with pop culture. As and awkward, pubescent middle-school student, Weird Al was the first musical artist with whom he could associate. He wants to share his fondness of Mr. Yankovic with the world as well as amass a portfolio advocating for “Weird Al” Yankovic to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Yeah, that’s right. This is a professional, scholarly website, yo.

Ben lives in Cleveland, Ohio with his wife, son, and newborn daughter. He maintains this website in his spare time between teaching music teachers how to teach music, researching awesome things like education policy and music cognition, advocating for the use of the Oxford Comma, and reading the same books to his kids again and again and again and again and again and again and again.

To learn more about Ben, just ask! His email is bch51@case.edu and his Twitter handle is @BenC137Helton. He’ll also not write exclusively in the third person if you contact him.
